Just got back off hols last night, and convinced the Mrs that we should go to the scooter shootout at Elvington today.....I say convinced, she wasn't convinced at all......so we went regardless. Had 4 kids in tow......who incidentally loved it!! lol. I was gonna enter the pushchair into the 1/8th but it hadn't been setup properly on the dyno, maybe next year.....
Anyway, loads of pics flying about of today already, so here are a few more!

Dan.... Just to add.... Until last week it was over 18 years since I last saw my original group 4 . It's been in a shed under a blanket since 1999 and not started till last week! It did over 20 runs at the Shootout with no issues!
... And yes mate ...... Very enthusiastic to have that original bike back in my life . .... And amazed it is virtually unchanged in the 18 years.... With my original paint !

Hi,
Wow, looking through the results (the Class Points Results gives everyones best times I think) some truly amazing times and speeds achieved by all this weekend!
As I've not been to one of these events before (though seriously considering next year) I'm not familiar how the different distances/speeds etc (1/4, 1/8, 1/2 flyer etc.) are calculated? Are they all, including the 1/2 mile run (or is this the Flyer maybe a longer distance?), from a standing start?
One result/speed that did stand out, is did Stuart Day of SRP get their full bodywork race scoot (with the Group 6 motor), number 1601 (pic above) to do 101.6 mph!!?? I thought over 100mph on a full frame was very VERY difficult to achieve, mainly because of the drag factor and lack of aerodynamics, and therefore if this is correct, well that's just awesome and VERY impressive!!
Cheers,
Tom

Thanks for confirming this Paul. There being a "headwind" as well, makes all the results even more impressive!!paulmgreen wrote:yes Tom.... all from a standing start! and there was a headwind most of the day too!

Yep, and that's another amazing speed, and very impressive for a poorly running scoot!! Can't remember what gearing I used to run at Cadwell, think I ran Pacemaker 15 x 46 everywhere!wack 63 wrote:And a poorly group 4 204 cc at 94.9 mph flier on its second and last run on the 1/2 mile running Cadwell gearing
So, whose motor is this, JB, Chiselspeed, Charlie "Performance Tuning", Replay etc??
Also, can someone just confirm exactly what a "Flyer" is, and over what distance is the speed calculated??
Thanks
