Hello all.I am restoring an Li 2 with standard 4 pole ignition and the lights are in a a word lame.

Any suggestions or are they just like that.Should I be remagnetizing the flywheel?Re silvering the reflector?Re wiring the stator?

Please no "just throw an electronic on it" I am trying to keep it original.

4 Pole magnetos are less powerful than 6-Pole ones at low rpm because of it's construction. But try to get your flywheel remagnetized and of course check the condition of the wiring and the refelctor. Also make sure everything has a good earth connection. My tv175 with 4-pole ducati ignition has better light than my P2 MK1.

good idea to get the flywheel remagnetised..., and double check your earths

my series 3 ran on 4 pole, lights were fine...

than i put an electronic kit on it, and, light-wise, didnt see a real difference to be honest....

Make sure you have all the correct bulbs. In the past I've also taped silver foil into the one piece Carello rear light on a S3 to make it brighter. A bodge, but it did work :D
