Vapor speedo

I've recently changed from ac to dc and fitted a new vapor Speedo my question is with the rpm wire, when it's rapped around the ht lead the bar rpm graph goes up to 12000 revs at about 30/40 mph and is very irratic, can the the wire be joined to one of the yellow wires from the stator plate to calm it down

I have been thinking about one of these.
According to the manual (for a motorcycle ) you can connect it directly into the low voltage coil supply, which will pulse every time you get a spark. (ie green wire in the head set on a lambretta)
I would be interested as to how this works out, my issue 2 issues are
fitting the speedo to a scoot RS outboard disk.
Mounting it.

Hi meds, when I bought my first vapor it came from mbdevelopments with there own bracket which fits on the axle on the left hand side for the sensor, the vapor itself is fitted in the headset itself

Thanks
Did you check up their website for fitting the RPM sensor.
http://www.trailtechproducts.co.uk/acat ... ELV-07.pdf
What I couldn't find was size pulse it needs.

RPM Sensor just wraps around the HT lead as per instruction.

Thanks Corrado, but I I need an LIS type top.
Hi Jonzo172, if you follow the link I posted, RPM sensor fitting option 2 is using the LT coil supply, which is a neat solution but not sure if it will work on a Lambretta
Did you sort your problem philtrate?
Fitting the speedo sensor isn't a simple job I would like to drill, and tap a hole to fit the speedo sensor into the calliper holding pate and use one of the disk bolts for the magnet or fit it too the rear shock mounting block in the back wheel.
Either way a neat solution will take a bit of effort and I'm enjoying riding at the moment.

Can't you wrap it around the HT lead and hold it on with a bit of black tape? It's practically invisible, even with the panel off.

You can get natty little alloy holders for Vapors, that can be bolted onto anywhere you want. I put mine at the top of the legshields, but you can bolt them to the top of a toolbox, if it's not a Rally type (the door gets in the way).

Legshield mounted:
