Am a complete newbie and looking for a first scoot and came across this ad. It looks great but seems too good to be true

Any advice would be appreciated

If you like that sort of thing? On the face of it, it seems a steal at that money. And that concerns me. Take someone knowledgeable with you and view it is my advice. Also make sure all the paperwork is in order.

Seller is actually in Scotland (not Bristol as ad) but says wants to do sale through ebay private listing and will deliver direct to me for no extra cost. He says I have 7 days to inspect (via ebay/PayPal rules) to make sure I'm happy which sounds very fair but the bit I'm unsure about is that he says ebay/PayPal will handle transferring the paperwork into my name which I have never done before so not sure if this is normal for this type of transaction.
Is there anything else I need to be asking the seller?

Doesn't sound right to me, an 'eBay private listing'? Is the seller a dealer then? Assuming you bought it and the scooter turned up, what are the chances of you ever getting your money back if you change your mind? Zilch I recon. There are loads of good Lambrettas around, personally I wouldn't get involved unless it was a reputable seller/dealer, but it's only my personal opinion.

It stinks. Looks suspicously like a scam.

That is the quickest way to lose over £2000,
Walk away as said a few times above and ask about locally.
Do want a lambretta or Vespa?
What is your son about to get??

Shaun.
