Hello,
I have a lambretta frame that has had its toolbox door welded up but when i have taken back the paint hoping to find some small spot welds to grind away it looks like its going to be a little more difficult than that. I want to return it to having a useable toolbox so has anyone any suggestions on the best way to do this? It looks like the original door has been welded in place.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Looks like it's been done properly. Might be easier to get a new or donor loop.

You could try knocking it out from the inside, the weld might give, but you might distort the rim and / or loop

I thought about sacrificing the toolbox door and cutting it down the middle and trying to fold it out? Not sure if that is possible or makes sense but will hopefully cause less damage if it doesn't work? I was thinking the welding might snap...... Worst case scenario I have to get it welded back up.

Yes neat job done by someone else but I want a toolbox if possible if it's going to be too much hassle I will live with it as is.

For what you can get in a standard toolbox is it worth the hassle?

Better with a twin tank conversion and a legshield toolbox

Really want a standard looking gp so the toolbox door and the holes in the side panels need to be returned to the factory design.... I just prefer the look.....each to their own
