At the tender age of 26,a work colleague has decided to venture forth into the world of 'Lambretta',as 'he's always fancied one'!
Advice given was.........''Pick the one with the best/complete bodywork'',which he did
The work starts here............................
Project Li 125 series 2
The plan is (at the moment),to get it running and handling as it should, then use it as is for a year, then possibly (funds permitting),a full bodywork resto!!

Looks like he's picked a good'un there - and it does seem to lend itself to a rustoration job.... sort the engine & running gear - then just clean, polish & seal all the bodywork...
You could even put a nice tuned motor into it with the money you'd save on bodywork & paint...

Got to be fair, all that's been dismantled so far has done so with little trouble (with the help of a bloody good soaking in WD40),the only part that has given trouble was the exhaust system!
All the relevant nuts/washers undid without a problem, but no way was the silencer coming off the downpipe!,but as that was knackered anyway I ended up cutting it off !
Ive not a clue what the crap inside the engine is,but whatever, its going to take some real effort to clean up!,its clogged everything big time !

Series 3 engine. So, it's been apart at some time. Love threads like this. Better than a strip and paint job. Keep the photos coming.
