RT195 or GT186?

I've thought about getting GT186 kit but it's easy for me to locally order a RT195 kit. What are they like head to head? I'd be using a 25mm Dellorto and a Clubman style exhaust.

I've built both and they each have their pros/cons

Personally I'm a fan of the RT for it's ease of setting up, head design and exhaust flange.

Both kits really come alive with the use of a proper expansion chamber and bigger carb as the clubman and small carb are some what restrictive by nature.

how fa$t do you want to go?

I'm happy for a true 75MPH (GPS) but getting there quickly and sitting at a true 65MPH if needed. I do have a 110 Yam rod crank which would suit the GT185 but I'm not sure whether I could use it on the RT.

Just fit a 3mm packer plate to get round the 110 rod.
Just fitted an RT, albeit the 225 version, and running in at the mo. Pulls and pulls.

the RT is well suited for the 110 rod. It's the GT that is designed for the 107/58. Like purple_pill67 says, just run a 3mm packer on the GT to use the 110 rod (you'd need to do that on the RT also).

115 in mine.

I doubt you will find many people who will be able to give you a considered comparison of one against the other given that the RT kits are relatively new. I could wax lyrical about how much I love my GT but that won't help you make a decision.

so are you using a 8mm packer or a diferent piston?
