We have come to the conclusion after 14 gearbox/clutch rebuilds it's time to give in!!!
We are no further forward with it from the first rebuild!!!

I have put back in my original 150pacemaker engine and taken out the rebuilt 200, and will have to give it another go at a later day!!!!

Oh well!!!! Any ideas or suggestions apart from selling it off or burning would be welcome!!!!

Enough is enough

Thanks for the input and comments so far - top guys!!!

It could be the chain hitting the end plate studs or layshaft bearing race,if the crown wheel shim is to thin or non existant.

just took the chaincase cover off mine, turns out the clutch top steel plate has been rubbing on something, think its the inside of the kickstart,
brian.

had another look at mine and its definitely the kickstart shaft wearing away the clutch top metal plate, looks like the kickshaft shaft is over cast,so I took off some metal with the angle grinder,
brian.
