Love this scoot. Its obviously a well used everyday workhorse not a show-piece . Its exactly how they should be really.

Anyone recognise the make of seat ?

are you welding a new section on?
its crying out for it?
put a wanted ad out for bits chopped off making a cut down or chopper, a whole loop would do but just cut a section out to save on mig welding and sell the rest on
a) you will get bits off a recently butchered Indian gps
b) or bits that have been in a shed for thirty years from 80s chopper and cutdown craze, ( I have seen them in sheds and parts fairs)
c) Remade loop on ebay 270946418761 £329 costly for a section though

All would be fine as the gutter would be the tricky bit to hand make? however that is past the curve so it could be done, get at sheet metal firm to make / roll 1m of the profile u shape and weld it to the sides of a square repair section, can you borrow a frame or scooter to make card patterns with locally? It wont show when done if butt welded with a mig set, Lambretta innovations are likely to have repair sections from scomadi production they are on 01772 721714 and have an excellent jig . scootopia may have bits as well
if you get a piece of steel pate 10mm thick ( or the width of the inside of the channel) say 75mm long , grind the edges to radius needed to fit snuggly , beat 2mm sheet steel over it with a small ballpein hammer, plate held in a bench vice you would soon make long straight U sections working on 10mms area at a time, trial and error to get best strip size for making though, sheet steel is relatively soft as long as not too wide a strip is worked

thanks Steve but that all sounds like far too much work to me

I was lucky enough last month to find a Scooterotica member with the remains of a GP frame who cut the back end off and posted it to me for just P&P :D

I have a Mig and so I will be welding on the rear of the frame when I get around to stripping the scoot later in the year . ;)
Thanks very much for your helpful suggestions , much appreciated
