Bought a new Escort shock about 18mths ago and this has now failed so looking at getting a bit better one, have the Hagon issues all been sorted now? or are there any other rear shocks people would reccomend for around the £100 mark.
Pretty standard Li ser3 so dont really want to be paying much more.
Cheers in advance.

The last batch of new ones I had were all sent back to Hagon to be sorted out probably around 18 months ago. So I'd imagine that any new ones now for sale are now OK.
There still doesn't appear to be a good quality standard type shocker available in that price range. Don't know if Shocky on here still does refurbed R1 shockers, but they were in that price range.

VE-UK are now the UK 'exclusive distributer' for these UK made shocks.
The ejector seat bushes, twanging collars and also eyelet dislocation problems have all been remedied, Available from your friendly local VE-Uk retailer or Muyskootaparts, cow, ukay at a fraction under the price of sorted R1/Protec shock.
Make no mistake

Fitted today, I presume both nuts fully tightened up and all the movement needed is provided by the bushes.
None of this 'leave nuts a bit loose' stuff?
Put a bit of grease on posts to aid future removal.
Cheers.

I always use spring washers either side of the bush and a half nylock nut.
The previous issues were caused by the top bushing not having enough give in them. I doubt if the problem would ever had arisen if Hagon had used a softer, maybe rubber bush, but I suppose they would have worn out much quicker. [Just my personal opinion].
Because of the way the engine is mounted on 2 rubber blocks there's always going to be sideways movement [worn engine mounts most likely added to the earlier issues] so you can't have the top suspension mount solid or something will have to give.
