Hi Boys after bit of advice please as I have got to replace Mugello piston and my old Mugello piston had two oblong ports in the side of it for LTH Reed value, my question is, I'm I best cutting two in the new piston to same the shape as old one or would Oval ports or square ports be better ????? picture shows rubbing of old piston and the two ports were not identical and I presume they should have been , any advice appeciated

Would an Imola piston not work?

No, pretty sure the 198 Mugello uses a 66mm piston, the Imola is 64mm.
RB20, 66mm piston, may work but needs a 116 rodded crank plus you'd need to check piston crown to cylinder head profiles.

To do the reed conversion on the 198 you Can use a 200 monza piston.
