After a bit more work with the grinder we had to concede that some of it was that thin that a new floor was going to be needed.
So off it went to the shop and an new floor pan was sourced and welded in.
The under headset was also shocking so it needed stripping too.
Front mudguard was shot so a fibreglass seemless one bought.

Frame back from the welder, getting a coat of underseal
And a blow over in red, note NO holes for footboard strips -
Three hours, many skint knuckles, much swearing and more pop rivets than I care to think about and the old strips are refitted.
Forks and headset dropped on just to make it easier to move around
