Hello,

please help me before I burn the little devil scoot!

I have a Vespa P150X with:
Polini 177 kit.
Dell'Orto SI 24/24 E carb.
Jets (Slow Running 55/160) (Air Corr 160/mixer BE3/Main 110) (Starter 60)
NGK8 plug.
Tuned Pipe

The fault: The scoot starts 1st/2nd kick with choke on and will warm up until I can then turn choke off but if at anytime I pull the throttle the engine stalls(sounds more like sucking loads of air) I cannot get scoot to higher revs without it stalling. The scoot ran ok one day and then the next it had this fault?

Things I've done: Checked timing/adjusted mixer screw to all settings/cleaned carb at least 3 times inc jets/changed plug/change HT lead/changed. plug cap.

I will burn the little fecker soon!

Sounds like a leak somewhere ,try nipping up all the nuts and making sure there are no obvious signs of blowing ,if not then get a compression tester on it and go from there .

I had trouble trying to run a smally which had been stood a few months, prior to this it ran sweet as, then it was a tw@t to start/run/idle, after engine was rebuilt (with new seals) it ran sweet as.

Compression test is just a gauge that screws into the sparkplug hole ,any garage should have one and it only takes a minute to do

I had this on lammy not so long back, would sit and idle all day long but as soon as I touched the throttle it would stall. After a lot of swearing I remembered I'd only recently changed a broken speedo cable. It turned out the cut out wire was resting on throttle wheel and every time I pulled throttle it would pull the wire killing the scooter!!! Headset top off move kill switch wire out of the way and problem fixed.
