I'm going to use a sil crankshaft with yamaha 110 rod in my new engine.

I've heard various things:

Rd125 rod is the one, but I've also heard they're not as good as the 350lc rod.

Do they have the same dimensions?

I know they're both 110, but what about the big end width? I think you need to machine the webs for both rods, but by the same amount? I'd like to take off as little as possible so as to maintain maximum grip on the pin.

Thoughts/experience please?

http://www.mitaka.co.uk/MDP.htm It all depends if you want to run big end shims, if so then the webs will need machining evenly.

Thanks wack. Yes, i want big end shims. And expected to have to machine the webs.

That link is good, but I'm puzzled by the small end eye dimensions being quoted as 16/21 for the ypvs rod.

No, 16mm pin and 21mm SE eye in the rod (roller diam 2.5mm).

The RD rods are 16mm wide at both big and small end.
