Guys, trying to remove a mate's engine and the bolts seized quite solid. I can't knock it out either way and worried if i hit it too hard that the engine lugs will break, any ideas to remove engine bolt appreciated ?

Thanks

If Lambretta, it's likely to be seized in the engine mounts, so take off both nuts, spray thoroughly with plusgas or similar and leave overnight. Then put some large washers the same internal size as the original washer on one side only as packers, refit the nut and tighten to draw the bolt out. Keep swapping sides until it frees up. Oh, and take it easy, and if it doesn't work, ask advice on a different method, but this one worked for me!

Incidentally we tried a mate's new engine bolt on the engine and it went straight through with no resistance, maybe we'll have to give it a gentle grind down.....
