HELP! Lambretta Gearbox noise

We have come to the conclusion after 14 gearbox/clutch rebuilds it's time to give in!!!
We are no further forward with it from the first rebuild!!!

I have put back in my original 150pacemaker engine and taken out the rebuilt 200, and will have to give it another go at a later day!!!! :cry:

Oh well!!!! Any ideas or suggestions apart from selling it off or burning would be welcome!!!!

Enough is enough :evil:

It could be the chain hitting the end plate studs or layshaft bearing race,if the crown wheel shim is to thin or non existant.

hi everyone,i ve got exactly the same problem,toataly re-built new everything gp175 in a series 2 case,i didn't worry about it too much till now,i was thinking it was just the chain as mentioned earlier,but now I don't know,

just took the chaincase cover off mine,turns out the clutch top steel plate has been rubbing on something,think its the inside of the kickstart,

had another look at mine and its definitely the kickstart shaft wearing away the clutch top metal plate,looks like the kickshaft shaft is over cast,so I took off some metal with the angle grinder,

everything back together again,noise still their,goes away as soon as clutch pulled,
