As a point of reference for any big bore fans out there, i've had the opportunity to see some of the work that is getting done by the FOXHAT boys, Alan & Arthur.

Most, if not all of the work these chaps do, is big bore - long stroke engines, built for street use.

Alan and Arthur have been quietly working away from their workshops, to ultimately provide what is know locally as the Foxhat engine building service. They dont sell parts, they dont take calls for a piston or a crank.....they just take the time to have a conversation with thier customers, to see what they want, and to see if they can match it up to something they offer/specialise in. As Arthur says....."we do what we do, and we do what works for us!"

Anyone that contacts Alan & Arthur for thier services will find two great chaps that offer a very honest service, at competative prices......so if you fancy a big bore - long stroke Lambo.....why not give them a ring, and see what they can do for you?

As i say, they don't do parts sales, but what they do offer is a custom service from first phone call.....through to serious after sales care, you can get your full motor built by these chaps, cabled up and ready to go. No messing about.....just discuss the spec/use/budget requirements, get the bugger built.....and as Art says " you're good to go! "

FOXHAT engines will of course come with the FOXHAT 6 plate clutch set-up, using one of thier fantastic clutch spiders, and you can also expect to see lots of lovely goodies, including:

72mm Wiseco pistons of all varieties....depends on the application.
WORB5 'Special' 62mm or 64mm cranks running 115/18 rods
Tino 62mm crank running 110/116 rods
AF 60mm crank running 115/116 rods

Cylinders will vary from TS1 225, to RB250 to Monza 225/240 etc...it all depends on what you have or what you want.....but they all bore out beautifully, and the range of welding/bridging/porting options is endless.

Clutches are FOXHAT, goes without saying!

But dont worry about thinking 'i heard this piston, or that crank, or this kit etc is too weak, or no good' etc these guys find the bits they want, and re-work them as neccesary....so if they are good to go, thats fine...but if not....they make them 'good to go'. Whether its a bit of welding, a jap rod, better bearings, a thou skimming of a surface....whatever it needs, all items are 'brought within specified tolerances' before use.

Also........the FOXHAT demonstrator!! A full bodied, Italian GP125....no fancy paint jobs, all original bodywork....just new cables, tyres, brakes and suspension for safety.....along with a FOXHAT big bore - long stroke engine, to show you what you've been missing all these years!!

Anyone that does contact Al or Art, can expect to be getting some of the following items fitted to thier scoot:

Alan & Art are both nice chaps, that are honest and straigh talking...so if you have an engine build that you need to talk to them about, then get in contact.....but dont expect them to divulge all their secrets, or sell you a random piston or whatever.....its a bespoke engine service.

FOXHAT CLUTCHES:

FOXHAT CLUTCH SPIDERS...

The FOXHAT clutch spiders were designed and developed by the Dixon Bros. These clutches 'foxhat' are designed to handle masses of torque and power, and do so perfectly - due to thier design. They grip, and handle the power 35bhp+ and also 'free' easily using only GT200 springs (or similar), giving a good, almost standard feel to the clutch lever.......you certainly don't need arms like Popeye to pull this clutch kit in, and you won't in fact notice much diference over a standard clutch when you pull in the lever.

The beauty of these spiders is that they are so interchangable with existing set-ups, and you can use either the bronze bushes, or the bearings.

Much testing has already been done by the Dixon Bros (over 3 years) and so they are as such, tried and tested. Many people have already used these spiders, to thier complete satisfaction, which is why Art and Al (Dixon) are now putting these one piece, billetted, cranksteel spiders up for sale. Each one goes through a special 50 hour Nitride treatment process, to ensure a strong, quality piece of kit.

Simply buy the spider, and your existing deep cut 5-plate clutch basket can instantly hold 1 extra clutch plate.

This kit is for standard fitting, NO PACKER required, its a cranksteel hardend clutch spider. One piece, no rivits, no bolts, or welds....perfect fit, quality engineering. Also worth noting that AF and Chiselspeed order these and use them in their builds.
