Re: Autolube
I just take the cog off in the engine , not the one under the clutch!! Then silicone up the channel under carb. Don't like disabling them , as are a bloody god send and work perfect!

Re: SIP and BGM Clutches
Same as Gaz , cosa in a tuned polini 210, no problems had one in my mallossi for years also.
I know they can be a bit hit and miss especially with clearance issues in the basket, but all easy to sort when on the bench.
I run BGM springs and normal newfren plates , all good.

Re: Fuel starvation?
Sounds more like your pilot jet blocked mate.
At them low speeds the vespa fuel tap is fine , it's only when you're above half throttle and below half a tank of fuel you'll get issues with starvation. Usually it will be pinking its head off!!

Re: Conti tyres
Agree re the twists in damp or wet, don't know if they've changed but not a fan , very skitty.
Have the 365's on mine , feel a bit weird to be honest , can't put my finger on it , have been on semi slicks for years , so maybe not used to the chunky tread ?

Re: Delving into VSE1M
Good stuff mate , disagree re fitment and adjustment though,
Piece of p155 to set up , fit 2 trunnions , tighten up cable to the max then just slacken the last trunnion off a tad if too tight then move the first down.

Re: fitting a fuel pump to stock fitting carb
Before you go spending the cash and getting this , that and the next thing , best to check your flow rate first .
SIP taps are , how shall I say it ....

Re: fitting a fuel pump to stock fitting carb
Classic case of fuel starvation. Fit a fast flow BGM tap and this should suffice.
