Is the kickstart shaft new? , and if so from where did you purchase it from??

i`ve taken all advice on board ordered some 60/40 low temp solder 183 deg and have another go see if i can get the something like , anyone used solder paste ? comes in a syringe

no both are standard type soldering iron the small one i have is a copper tip and can be tinned but is low powered the big one with the steel tip solder just rolls off

the 200watt has a steel (i think) tip and ive tried to tin it but to no avail , what wouldbe the best way to tin it ??

ok just been converting my spare stator to dc , i have to soldering irons at my disposal a small fine tipped 30watt and a 200watt , which is not really suitable for soldering up stators my problem how do i the solder to run cleanly , my soldering looks s**t it seems to take ages to run ,using either...

ok thanks all for your input , it was the tag at eight o`clock , put the multi-meter on and it tests out ok

disconnect the earth tag, that`s what i was having trouble with finding with a SIL stator the earth is situated under the last coil but the BGM which one

bgm stator conversion
has anyone converted a standard BGM stator to DC i`ve converted a SIL one with no problem , but looking at the BGM the coils are wired slightly different and i cant work which one to disconnect and add the new wire to ..................hope that makes sense

i`d knock spider back into shape and ask my mates who`s got a top plate , if no one has then you may have to by one but only a couple of quid

suppose its a bit like clutch shims and gearbox shims are now produced in every thickness under the sun , is it the fact that we are using non-OEM parts on our scoots and tolerances vary from the originals or is it we are led to believe we need these parts so we comply?? i really don`t know
