Re: Houston ....we have a problem ...
"I have now had the opportunity to measure all the dimensions of the 3x engines that I have and have finally worked out what the problem is. It is the 200cc barrel or more accurately it is the inaccuracy of the bored and tapped holes for the inlet manifold which on my barrel are about 5mm close...

Re: Houston ....we have a problem ...
The pictures not brilliant but that appears to be a normal larger engine mount- there appears to be the remnants of the usual white paint thereon. Re: Houston ....we have a problem ...
the larger blocks would have been fitted to your bike originaly. and allow the fittng of the usual carbs i.e 18/20/22 dellorto. the problem will be with the manifold if not original or more likely the barrel if it is one of those linered alloy indian jobs as they are known to have the inlet surface...

Re: TV175 S3 won't start......
thinking about it- when it started "not starting", it was kicking back really strongly on the K/S- something its never done before. That in my opinion suggests well over advanced timing. Its not kicked back since, but now occasionally backfires badly, which suggests well retarded. The indi...

Re: TV175 S3 won't start......
I've given it a go Martin but with no luck- I am coming round to the fact that its timing related i.e. the flywheel has slipped if the key has gone. Unusual though as it happened after I used the gunk but may be as Mick says, it could be coincidence.
