GP Choke Plunger
For some reason at the base of the clutch shaft (sidecasing) my GP (bog standard Italian 150) has a circlip below the plunger yet the original parts manual shows none & i hear there shouldn't be one as the brass bush/plunger holds it in place in the sidecasing. Any thoughts on this? I had been h...

Re: How far does crank need to be pulled in when fitting
Thanks Tractorman....schoolboy error on my part, got a lot on & trying to get a lot done & overlooked things, misbelieveing a 'gap' of around 0.5mm either side of webs should be present but no (on a little research elsewhere too) it should be brought flush to the bearing - no idea why i thou...

How far does crank need to be pulled in when fitting
When fitting the crank i know at least a 0.5mm gap is really needed mag side what about drive side - does it need a gap or should it be pulled flush? If all fitted & a gap left drive side & mag/flywheel fitted etc would it be safe to pull flush with these in place without effecting seals etc...

Re: Top chain guide damage
Thanks for replies, it's Italian & has Regina chain (although will double check at weekend). When I first got it I looked it over & set the play to 6mm as modern thinking although it was set at 12mm - it's all very much as it was when it checked the factory. I assumed me setting it to 6mm wa...

Top chain guide damage
Found bits of metal when changing gear oil & sought to investigate, found my top chain guide to be damaged (on a bog standard GP150), it was originally set as per factory at 12mm play, it was after I set to 6mm play that the front of it had the chain cut into it about 10mm. Any ideas on what cau...

Re: Overheated blue crank
As the underside of the inner race looked 'ok' & not like either side of the inner race, i.e blue & the fact that the flywheel bearing sits on this race am i assuming the crank will be ok?. The drive side is fine as no heat applied to this side, obviously the flywheel sits on the crank but i...

Re: Overheated blue crank
Looked ok underneath the collar/inner sleave once i ground it off, oil seal areas were fairly blue. I was dubious about putting it back like that so carefully with a dremel again i put a small wire brush attachment on & have gone over the whole taper shaft carfully to remove any 'bluing'. Concer...

Overheated blue crank
I heated my crank inner sleave/collar to remove with original type tool (bloody thing didn't work so ended up grinding it off using a dremel very carefully followed by hand files), the crank taper has darkened gone blue, did i use too much heat, weaken the crank. May seam a daft question but a lot o...

Re: Damaged Stop on forks
I had this years ago & was a time when you could take your scooter away & return sometime later, thankfully for you no MOT is now needed due to age of scooter.
It's forks out & a welding job I'm afraid on the frame tube itself if that's the faulty part.
