Re: No spark !

I hadn't considered the external pick up ! I've been like a dog with a bone determined to get it to work as it should. The scooter is an import and I'm keen to get it MOTed and registered, I may well get the external pick up but I'll try shiming the pick up first. Thanks for suggesting an alternativ...

Re: No spark !

Thanks rosscla, your post gives me hope! I recently transferred my complete ignition from my GP and still nothing. I wonder if these late Spanish mag flanges are machined deeper to accommodate the original 3.2kg flywheel and electronic ignition. I would like to exhaust all options before I change th...

Re: No spark !

Ignition switch is not connected, green earth wire removed from CDI in order to eliminated this possibility (yes I have tried both just in case I was removing the wrong one) When I tried the Indian flywheel the pick up looked to be well back from the flywheel windows (impossible to view with BGM one...

No spark !

I am currently building an 1984 Spanish Lynx type 200. However I am getting no spark despite 2 different stators and 2 different flywheels being tried. One an AC BGM and one an Indian reworked one from Scootronics, Flywheels tried are a BGM and standard Indian. The engine is earthed and I have tried...

Re: SIL cast iron reed conversion

Thanks for your reply Corrado, I am going to make this a winter project, I have a cast barrel and piston on which to experiment and if I make a pigs ear of it, they are not to expensive to replace. Matching and flowing the reed block will be easy enough with the right burrs but I will have to read u...

SIL cast iron reed conversion

Hi has anybody converted a SIL stage 4 cast iron barrel to reed valve using one of the popular small reed blocks ? I'm thinking of doing this, adding a boost port and cutting a window in the piston. If anybody has done this was the results worth the effort and cost.

Re: indicator flasher unit

If you are using LED indicators then you will need a specific LED flasher unit. If you are using ordinary bulbs on an AC electrical system remember your headlight will likely dim if you use 23 watt bulbs (not a problem on a DC battery system) 10 watt bulbs help prevent this but are not as bright. Yo...

Re: 2K paint mask.

Thanks scooterdude, this is my first time with 2k though I did spray my everyday Lambretta around 8 years ago with acrylic, got a good result that has lasted well but that was in the height of summer. In the early days I;ve also sprayed cellulose(very easy IMO). Circumstance and a desire to get this...
