andy you were right,the kickstart bush was protruding slightly,tapped it in as you said,also measured the clutch shim,came in at 1.4mm,ordered up a 0.8mm,will see how that lines up.

It was only after I posted and was giving it some thought I realised the plate thickness wont make any difference as its down to the groove in the spider and circlip,are there variations in different spider groove hights ?

hi,already posted in an earlier post re- gearbox noise,turns out the inside of the kickstart shaft is rubbing on the clutch top plate,ive already removed everything and ground down the top of the plate and the bottom of the shaft where I think its making contact,i didnt want to take too much off,eve...

chris,it got me thinking,i luckily had a gasket that was part of a rebuild set,i also checked scooterestorations website and on their exploded diaghram for the jetex it has one.

sorted,turns out that new jetex carbs don't come with a carb top gasket,find that strange,fitted one and a new omg fast flow,running great now,only that gearbox noise to sort out now.

it was a 175 but its back to standard new barrel piston head,it did tick over slightly faster but not much still had to keep it going with the throttle,thought if the carb was knackered it just wouldn't start at all,
